Biography
Taribo West (born March 26, 1974 in Lagos) is a Nigerian
football defender, he is currently without a club after being
released by English Championship team Plymouth Argyle on October
6, 2005.
West has had a successful career, playing for AJ Auxerre, Inter
Milan, A.C. Milan, Derby County, FC Kaiserslautern, FK Partizan,
Al-Arabi, Bolton Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle. He has been
capped 41 times by the Nigerian national team and played in the
1998 and 2002 World Cups. He was also a member of the Nigerian
team that won the golden medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in
Atlanta, Georgia. West is also known for the various unusual and
colourful hairstyles that he has sported over the years.
In August 2005, Derby County fans sent shirts to Taribo West's
hometown in Africa campaign backed by BBC Radio Derby.
