Biography

Justo Wilmar Villar (born June 30, 1977 in Cerrito, Paraguay) is a Paraguayan football goalkeeper, who currently plays for Newell's Old Boys of the Primera División Argentina.

Villar started his career for Paraguayan club Sol de América where he was coached by legendary goalkeeper Ever Hugo Almeida, from whom he learned to develop his goalkeeping skills. Afterwards, Villar moved to a bigger Paraguayan club, Libertad, in which he won back-to-back national championships in 2002 and 2003 in the Liga Paraguaya. In 2004, Villar was transfered to Argentinian club Newell's Old Boys and led the team to the 2004 Apertura championship in Argentina, where he was considered by the Argentinian press as the best goalkeeper for that year. Villar also won the Paraguayan Footballer of the Year award in 2004.
