Biography
Wesley Sonck, (born in Ninove, August 9, 1978), is a Belgian
football striker currently playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
He was transferred from AFC Ajax. Before, he played for K.R.C.
Genk in Jupiler League. He finished topscorer of that
competition in 2002 (30 goals) and in 2003 (22 goals, as much as
Cédric Roussel). He also plays for the Belgium national football
team. In the summer of 2005 Sonck had three of his ribs broken
after a horror tackle by Wilfred Bouma. Sonck took a long time
to recover from this injury, eventually marking his return to
competitive football with a goal in a 3-1 defeat by Bayern
Munich.
