Biography
Clarence Seedorf (born April 1, 1976 in Paramaribo, Suriname) is
a Surinamese-Dutch football (soccer) player, who currently plays
for AC Milan in Serie A.
Seedorf is the first (and currently only) person to win the UEFA
Champions League with three different teams: Ajax (1995), Real
Madrid (1998), and AC Milan (2003). He also played for Sampdoria
and Internazionale.
Seedorf was named by Pelé as one of the top 125 greatest living
footballers in March 2004.
A talented midfielder, many have suggested that his career could
have been even more impressive if he had not let an
argumentative and rebellious streak get the better of him on
several occasions. In addition, he had a long history of
underperforming in critical moments in the Nederlands Elftal.
As of 2005, Seedorf has been constantly snubbed by current coach
Marco van Basten, who refuses to nominate him for the Dutch
team. This has been questioned on a number of occasions by
Seedorf fans who argue that he should be selected for the
Netherlands because he is a certain starter for his club AC
Milan.
