Biography
Gianluca Pessotto (born August 11, 1970 in Latisana, Italy) is a
well-traveled Italian footballer who plays either right or left
back and wide midfielder. He currently plays for Juventus, the
club he joined in 1995.
Prior to coming to Juventus, Pessotto spent time with Varese,
Massese, Bologna, Hellas Verona, and Torino. He is one of many
experienced players who have been at Juventus for a lengthy
period of time. Recently, due to injuries and other issues, he
has been played mainly as a substitute to Jonathan Zebina, whose
recent injury may propel Pessotto into the starting lineup.
For Italy, Pessotto was capped 22 times. He played for his
country at the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000.
