Biography

Diego Placente (born April 24, 1977 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine footballer who plays at right back for Celta de Vigo of the Spanish league.

Placente started playing professionally in 1996 with Argentinos Juniors, before moving to Argentine giant River Plate in 1997. He transferred to Bayer Leverkusen in 2001, where he played until 2005, when he moved to Celta de Vigo. He played his first match with the Argentina national football team in 2000, and was capped 22 times (as of January 2005).
