Biography

Simone Inzaghi (born April 5, 1976, in Piacenza, Italy) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre forward for the Serie A club S.S. Lazio.

He has previously played for Piacenza F.C., Carpi, Novara Calcio, A.C. Lumezzane, Brescello and U.C. Sampdoria. Inzaghi has also represented the Italian national football team.

He is the brother of Filippo Inzaghi, who is also a professional footballer. Also Simone has a son, Tommaso, born April 29, 2001 with ex-girlfriend model/actress Alessia Marcuzzi.

Simone started playing professional football in the 1993-94 season with his hometown team Piacenza, though he did not get to play a first team game in the first season. The next season he was loaned out to Serie C1 side Carpi, where he played a total of five games. His first goal came in the 1995-96 season, playing for Novara in Serie C2. After two more loan stints, at Lumezzane in 1996-97 and Brescello in 1997-98, Inzaghi came back to Piacenza, and finally played his first game for the team, also his first Seria A game, in the 1998-99 season. He went on to score a total of 15 goals in 30 games for Piacenza that season.

The very next season he was signed by the Lazio. He had a productive first season at his new club, scoring 7 goals in 22 Serie A games, and 9 in just 11 Champions League matches. 4 of the european goals were against Olympique de Marseille at 14 March 2000. Lazio went on to win the Scudetto, as well as the Coppa Italia that season. He won the Coppa Italia again with Lazio in 2004.

In the 2004-05 season Inzaghi having one year player exchange with Fabio Bazzani, going to Sampdoria.
