Federico
Insúa (born January 3, 1980 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine
footballer who plays as hole for Boca Juniors.
El Pocho Insúa moved to the youth teams of Argentinos Juniors
from the Club Parque football school, and debuted professionally
on November 18 1997. After 5 seasons with the club, he
transferred to Club Atlético Independiente in 2002. After
winning a local championship with Independiente, he moves to
Spanish first division Málaga CF in 2003, but after only one
season he returns to Independiente.
At the begginig of the 2005/2006 season Insúa again transferres,
this time to Boca Juniors, debuting for Boca in the 4-1 victory
over Gimnasia de Jujuy. Even though he had a slow start, he
succeded in becoming the gamemaker Boca Juniors needed, wining a
local title and 2 international cups by the end of 2005.
Insúa debuted for the Argentina national football team in
January 2003, and was capped 4 times. He is 1.79 metres tall (5
foot 10.5 inches) and weighs 76 kg.
