Biography

Edmílson (born July 10, 1976 in Taquaritinga, Brazil) is a Brazilian-Italian football player. He played centre-back with São Paulo F.C., Olympique Lyonnais and FC Barcelona.

He received 36 caps with the Brazilian national team, the first one on July 18, 2000, and won the Football World Cup 2002.

He won the São Paulo State, French and Spanish championships with São Paulo F.C., Olympique Lyonnais and FC Barcelona.

While playing with FC Barcelona he suffered two serious injuries. He has an Italian passport which allows him to play in the EU as an European player.
